Navigating a path forward for employees
Helping people at a crossroads, when their work-life and professional identity have been unjustly disrupted, is my passion.
Tina Locklear, Founder and Managing Attorney
“ Be the change you want to see in the world”
Tina Locklear is a seven time Super Lawyer, selected by her peers as an Employment and Labor Super Lawyer in Southern California annually from 2020 through 2026. She has more than 20 years of experience in law, with a focus on employment law for over 10 years. The Firm represents employees only.
As the Principal of the plaintiff's firm she founded in 2006, she seeks to creatively find solutions for clients. Her overall approach prioritizes the client’s goals with their emotional ability and energy to deal with the cumbersome legal system. Each case is unpacked and explored to maximize its value.
“My pledge to each client is that we will give your cause a voice and find a solution that helps put you in a far better place than before you came to us. I will oversee your case from beginning to end. We will always return your calls or emails promptly."
PERSONAL STUFF
Tina loves spending time golfing, exploring foodie opportunities, and just hanging out with her 4 furry kids (3 orange tabbies and a dachsund springer spaniel). Playing Scrabble, poker and Wordle are favorite pastimes. She enjoys a good mystery or cooking competition (Great British Bakeoff and Chopped are faves). A constant student of life, she is forever learning new things. Presently that includes participating and learning about Jungian based dream analysis, Buddhist insights into understanding one’s mind, meditation and other wisdom group explorations.
LEGAL BACKGROUND
After an earlier career in business, Tina pivoted to law, receiving her Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law, where she graded onto Law Review her first year and thereafter served as Staff, Symposium Editor, and then Managing Editor. She worked full time while attending law school at night, so she understands hard work and the plight of hardworking employees.
Prior to managing her own firm, Tina served as General Counsel of the technology and information division of a Fortune 300 Company from 2000 to 2006.
When she began in private practice, she litigated fraud claims, consumer claims, and small business disputes. She loved fighting for the underdog, so after several years, she changed the practice to focus solely on employment law. For over a decade, the firm has REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES ONLY in litigation.
Memberships with LEGAL organizations
Presently Tina is a member of CELA, California Employment Lawyers Association, a group dedicated to representing employees only and raising employee rights in California. She is on their Public Employees Committee (which is a group focused on representing government workers), their Law Practice Management Committee, and is helping develop the CELA University curriculum which will provide certification for lawyers in representing employees. www.cela.org
Orange County Bar - Labor and Employment Law Section
California Lawyers Association - Labor and Employment Law Section
Tina was formerly a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), a group dedicated to Plaintiff’s work on behalf of injured consumers, before she narrowed the practice to exclusively focus on employment law.
Additional memberships include the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA).
NONPROFIT AND COMMUNITY WORK
OCPA - Tina was President of Orange County People for Animals (OCPA - see OCPAUSA.ORG) from 2000 to 2025. This nonprofit advocates for animal rights by seeking to raise awareness of institutionalized animal abuse in our society, that many of us are unaware of. OCPA provided ideas and methods to educate animal lovers on how to personally impact the lives of those with no voice, by giving tangible ideas of how to be part of the solution.
LINC Housing - Tina was a prior board member of LINC Housing (linchousing.org) which has provided meaningful solutions to the housing crisis in California since 1984. LINC’s mission is to build supporting housing for seniors, transition age youth aging out of foster care, and low income families. LINC has created over 9,000 affordable apartments and over 700 supporting housing units for those in need of affordable housing.
Community Outreach - Local Houseless Gardener - Tina helped advocate to keep a local arboretum site going created by a local biologist. In the news: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2003-nov-13-me-evict13-story.html?_gl=1*byift6*_gcl_au*MTc1NDMwOTMzNS4xNzE1Mzc2NzM4
